David Herman MA, CMT, LCAT

David Herman's life-long love of music and his multi-faceted talents as a performer, guitarist, and composer, found new meaning and fulfillment in using music to make a difference in other people's lives. After years of composing and performing his own original songs David found an assignment at a nursing home to be life-changing. He discovered the power of using music as a therapeutic tool. He enrolled at New York University and earned a Masters Degree in Music Therapy. Now he provides guitar lessons as well as music therapy at the Piano Plus studio. David specializes in tailoring the lessons to the student's individual learning style and musical interests. David is particularly skillful and patient with beginners and those with special needs. He teaches most styles of music including pop, rock, alternative, folk and blues.

Helene Herman MA, CMT, LCAT

Helene Herman is a pianist who holds a Masters Degree in Special education and has more than 10 years experience of classroom and music teaching in private and public schools. Her love of piano and years of training enabled her to embark on a second career as a piano teacher in private practice, where she developed programs that matched the learning styles and interests of her students. Today, she works with people of all ages and abilities who experience the joy of music while learning to play favorite songs and pieces at the piano, including classical, blues, jazz and pop and improvisation.

Saco Yasuma

Saco Yasuma is a pianist, saxophonist, composer and arranger, and has been actively performing in Japan and United States. At the same time, she has been teaching piano, composition, saxophone and ensemble in a school system and privately. She began classical studies at age of six, and studied jazz when she came to New York. As she so enjoys music, she wants to share the wonderful feeling of playing music with people of any age and ability who want to learn how to play. In her teaching, she emphasizes self-expression, personal interpretation, creativity, and improvisation through various styles of music with a suitable pace for each student.
